The chief executive officer and group vice chairman of the board of Helsinn Group in Lugano, Switzerland, Riccardo Braglia has spent 35 years as a professional in the healthcare industry, both as a business leader and philanthropist. He gained international experience in the pharmaceutical industry, which involved activities in Switzerland, in Ireland, in the United States and in China. Today, Riccardo Braglia is responsible for approximately 700 Helsinn employees and products distributed to some 190 nations. Recent expansions include a US-based commercial oncology sales team, established in 2013, the aquisiton of cancer targeted therapies and a unique oncology and rare diseases fund, started in 2016 called 3B Future Health.

Riccardo Braglia holds an MBA in industrial business from Bocconi University in Milan. He has received several awards over the course of his career, including the Best Swiss Entrepreneur of the Year award from Ernst & Young in 2012 and Best Entrepreneur in Ticino honors for 2011. Beyond his activities as leader of Helsinn, Mr. Braglia enjoys art collecting, particularly contemporary and African art.
